| Minor Corporation was founded in 1967 as A.F.I.
Co., Ltd. as both an importer of meats and groceries and as the operator
for the newly opened Dairy Land Supermarket. Over the next twenty
years it acted as the distributor for a number of imported consumer
brands before changing its name to Minor Corporation in 1987.
In 1988, Minor Corporation was listed on the Stock Exchange
of Thailand and expanded its operations through the acquisition
of Armin Systems Limited (distributor of a range of lifestyle brands
distributor) and NMT Limited (contract manufacturer of branded consumer
products).
In 1991, MCL began to distribute Esprit fashion wear
and Red Earth cosmetics. These two brands today form the core of
the Company’s lifestyle brand operations. Over the next decade,
the Company added a number of leading global brands in education
(Time-Life, World Book and Linguaphone), golf equipment (Ping, Etonic,
Top Flite, Spalding and Ben Hogan), cosmetics (Bloom), fashion (Bossini),
housewares (BIC, Wedgwood & Waterford, Henckels and Fissler)
and aircraft (Cessna).
Today Minor Corporation is one of Thailand’s leading
distributor of global lifestyle brands with leading positions in
the retail channel (over 100 points of sale nationally) and direct
marketing channels. Its’ contract manufacturing operations also
produces leading consumer household products for global leaders
such as SC Johnson, Unilever, Colgate, Johnson & Johnson and
Lion. The Company is expanding is retail presence and actively looking
to introduce new retail concepts to the Thai market to take advantage
of its knowledge and experience in the successful marketing of lifestyle
